Challenge: Capturing the sensitivity, respect and emotional weight of honouring frontline workers—without making the branding feel overly sombre or clinical—was a delicate balance.
Solution: I explored soft, uplifting colour palettes and symbolic shapes inspired by light, protection and care. The final logo used gentle curves and a wing motif that felt both hopeful and dignified, aligning perfectly with the spirit of the initiative.
2. Creating a Cohesive Campaign Across Multiple Formats
Challenge: The project required design assets for both print and digital platforms, as well as an engaging nomination video. Ensuring consistency across so many touchpoints within tight timelines was demanding.
Solution: I developed a unified visual system early in the project—establishing typography, colour standards, icon styles, and motion guidelines. This allowed all materials, from event branding to video graphics, to feel seamless and recognisable. The Angel Wings Project was a heartfelt initiative launched in 2021, during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic. The programme invited patients to nominate frontline workers—nurses, doctors, caregivers, paramedics and support staff—who went above and beyond in their service. These nominees were honoured with symbolic Angel Wings to recognise their courage, compassion, and the sacrifices they made during an incredibly difficult time.As the designer, I was responsible for developing the full visual identity of the initiative. I created the official logo for the project, crafted the full branding system for the event, and produced the video advertisement used to drive nominations. My aim was to communicate warmth, empathy and hope—while still maintaining a strong, recognisable visual presence that felt worthy of the heroes being celebrated.
