As the designer I was responsible for the full visual design and layout of the SAFLEC Annual Report 2025. This included conceptualising the overall look and feel, developing a clean and modern layout system, and ensuring the report communicated the organisation’s achievements and data in a visually engaging yet professional manner. SAFLEC Annual Report 2025 Challenges & Solutions 1. Managing Large Volumes of Statistical Data
Challenge: The report contained extensive export data, graphs, and year-on-year comparisons that could easily overwhelm the layout or appear visually inconsistent.
Solution: I developed a standardised data-visual system—consistent graph styles, spacing rules, and hierarchy—ensuring all statistics were easy to interpret and visually cohesive across the entire report.

2. Balancing Corporate Formality With Modern Design
Challenge: SAFLEC’s audience includes government bodies, international partners, and industry executives, requiring a formal tone—but the report also needed a modern, fresh visual identity to reflect innovation within the industry.
Solution: I created a refined layout using structured grids, clean typography, and subtle colour accents. This approach maintained professionalism while giving the publication a contemporary, accessible feel.

3. Ensuring Visual Consistency Across a High-Page-Count Document
Challenge: With a long report containing multiple contributors’ content, maintaining absolute consistency—spacing, header treatments, imagery, and charts—required strategic planning.
Solution: I built a detailed design system and master templates, applying universal style guides throughout the entire document. This reduced layout drift, kept branding uniform, and created a seamless reader experience from start to finish.
